Pearl Oyster Bar

12.17.09 It's hard to find a decent priced seafood restaurant in the city. Either it's delicious but way too expensive, or dirt cheap but repulsive. Pearl Oyster Bar sits right in the middle. It's tasty yet reasonably priced. What more could you ask for when you're craving a savory seafood meal? The key to avoiding long lines at Pearl Oyster Bar is to get there early, preferably when it opens at 6pm. Which is exactly what we did. I knew exactly what I wanted even before I entered the restaurant, their famous lobster rolls. My boyfriend, on the other hand, had a difficult time choosing between the various fresh seafood entrees. After much debate and contemplating, we both shared... Dozen Market Oysters He devoured.... Whole Grilled Fish (Bass) I had the usual... Lobster Roll with Shoestring Fries I've been to Pearl Oyster Bar's archrival, Mary's Fish Camp, but they just don't do seafood justice. Don't get me wrong, Mary's is yummy too, but Pearl Oyster Bar just gets it right every single time I go. What I like most about this place is that it almost feels like you're eating at a fish shack in New England. You can smell the fresh seafood and the interior looks quintessential nautical with its wooden floor and plaid shirt waiters/ waitresses. Absolutely phenomenal.
