Hearth...for Haiti
1.19.10
We had another opportunity to dine at Hearth. This time, it was to help the victims of Haiti's most devastating earthquake. Hearth was doing a Haiti special dinner, donating 50% of the night's proceeds to Haiti. Several restaurants in the city were offering this special dinner event, but we were most impressed with Hearth's generosity of donating not 10% (like most restaurants), but half of the night's earnings.
Knowing that Hearth was the first place we met, we decided to order something different. After going back and forth between what to order, we finally decided on two different sharing dishes and two entrees.
We shared...
Grilled Quail- Farro, Leaks, Tomato, Quail eggs
Anson Mills Polenta
He had...
Roasted Loin of Lamb- Brussel Sprouts, Golden Raisins, Pine Nuts, Braised Skirt
I enjoyed the...
Striped Bass Cacciucco- Calamari, Cockles, Fennel, Leeks
Wow. Not only was the night special in supporting the victims of the Haiti earthquake, but the food once was again pleasing to the soul. It's definitely a favorite in our book.
