The Fresh Pasta Virgin

11.20.09 When I told him that one of my favorite restaurants is a hole in the wall in the East Village, my boyfriend was eager to try it out. I had raved about it so much, I decided to let him in on one of my greatest joys in life....fresh pasta. So, on a quiet Friday night, we planned to go to Max's. I was excited for him to try fresh pasta for the first time. He was about to find out what he had been missing out on this whole time. We shared..

Crostini Toscano, Chicken liver pate on toasted bread

He had...

Lobster Ravioli in Spicy Tomato Sauce (Special of the Day)

I had...

Lasagna Fatta in Casa, Homemade meat lasagna with bechamel

Needless to say, it was an eye opening experience for him. He said he would never look at pasta the same way. He didn't know lasagna could taste so good. (When you see everybody at a table of 4 all order the same dish, you know it has to be good.)

To top it off, it was all under $40. That’s what you call popping the fresh pasta cherry.
